Exterior
The first impression for a prospective buyer is very important!

  1. Fertilize and water the lawn.
  2. Keep the lawn mowed.
  3. Trim bushes and shrubs.
  4. Plant a few flowers.
  5. Weed the garden.
  6. Clean the front porch and deck.
  7. Cleanup oil spots that may be in the driveway.
  8. Cleanup pet droppings from the back yard.
  9. Remove excess clutter from around the home.
  10. Apply fresh paint to trim or doors as needed.
  11. Repair broken windows
  12. Store trash cans out of view.
  13. Clean all windows.
  14. Make sure the door bell works.
  15. Clean the swimming pool.

Interior
Inside, everything should be spotless. Pretend your mother is coming for a visit!

  1. Replace burned out light bulbs.
  2. Steam clean carpets.
  3. Apply a fresh coat of neutral colored paint to walls or rooms.
  4. Put away all dishes in the kitchen.
  5. Straighten kitchen cupboards.
  6. Straighten closets.
  7. Put toys away.
  8. Clean every square inch of the home:
      • Baseboards
      • Closets
      • Light fixtures
      • Appliances
      • Mini-blinds
      • Floors
      • Toilets
      • Ceiling fans
      • Oven and stove
      • Exhaust fans
      • Furnace vent covers
  9. Fix leaky faucets.
  10. Pack away excess clutter.
  11. Replace old toilet seats.
  12. Replace door knobs that aren't working.
  13. Make sure the home smells good.
